The Second annual International Convention on Globalization and Rural Development, 2007
Protsahan is glad to announce the second "International Convention on Globalization and Rural Development-2007", to be held at the World Trade Center, Mumbai, India.
The main objectives with which the two-day convention is being held are:
- Providing a common platform for idea sharing and discussion for
- development professionals from across the world
- Sharing of experiences and lessons across geographical boundaries
- Working out concrete policy inputs and implementation suggestions
The tentative theme for the 2007 convention has been identified as: Rural Development in an Era of Globalisation
The Sub-themes:
- Globalization and common property resources (forests, pastures,
- waterbodies)
- The future for the farmer of the developing country
- The existing and the upcoming subsidy structure and the importance of
- micro-finance
- Implications for the rural health and education sector
- Globalization and forest dependent communities (tribal & other)
- Village industries, their potential and implications for rural masses
- Globalization and fishing communities
- Sustaining the growth process through sustaining the environment
- NGOs and their significance in bringing about rural development
- Responsibilities and role of Govt. /public & corporate sector in rural development
A circular calling papers based on sub-themes will soon be handed out mentioning the exact dates and venue of the convention. Registration forms, abstract submissions forms and all other relevant information will be circulated along with this.
