Environmental and Resource Economics (ERE) invites the submission of papers for a special issue on The Household, Gender, Children and Environmental Economics. The issue will be edited by Alistair Munro, Professor of Economics, Royal Holloway, University of London.

Environmental polices and problems can have differential impacts within the household. Nevertheless research within environmental economics on the subject has so far been piecemeal and often lacking in theoretical perspective. The aim of this special issue is to bring together research in the field and to stimulate further enquiry.

The Special Issue is expected to include but not be confined to the following topics:

• Measuring gender differences in preferences towards the environment and in impact on the environment.
• The implications of different theories of family resource allocation for environmental policy design.
• Intergenerational altruism and environmental policy.
• The theoretical measurement of economic welfare for non-unitary households.
• The economic valuation of environmental risks to children.
• The distributional consequences of environmental problems and policies.

Papers on other, related topics are also welcomed. Articles will be reviewed online according to the normal refereeing procedure for the Journal. For details on how to submit your manuscript to the special issue, please contact Alistair Munro at Alistair.Munro@rhul.ac.uk.
