CALL FOR PAPERS: Poverty in South Africa (PLAAS)
PLAAS is commissioning research on various aspects of poverty in South Africa, and calling for proposals for working papers on chronic and structural poverty in relation to:
- Land reform, food security and agricultural policy
- Social protection and social policy
- Industrial and trade policy
- SMMEs, the informal sector and the ‘second economy’
- Monetary and macroeconomic policy
Each paper can be funded up to R50 000 and will be presented at a policy and research seminar in March 2009. For detailed information please consult the PLAAS website http://www.plaas.org.za/research/poverty/proposals. The closing date for proposals is 11 July 2008.
