PhD POSITION: Geospatial indicators for disaster risk management
A PhD position (30 hours/week) is available at the Centre for Geoinformatics (Z_GIS) of the University of Salzburg, Austria from March 2009 (as soon as possible) for 2.5 years, with an option for further extension and contract renewal in October 2011.
Under the overall guidance of the research coordinator at Z_GIS, and the direct supervision of the project coordinator, the successful applicant will function as a project collaborator (researcher) and will perform the following functions:
- contributes to the preparation and provision of project deliverables;
- participates in workshops and meetings;
- tracks schedules of tasks;
- develops an own research plan for the PhD thesis, in line with envisaged achievements of project- or organizational objectives.
