In order to fulfill its objective of strengthening research capacity of its members, CAPRi has organized a workshop on research methods that aimed to generate new ideas and stimulate discussion on methodological aspects of studying collective action and property rights institutions in the context of natural resource management.

In addition, CAPRi supports the organization of training courses on Natural Resource Management and Institutions. The focus of these training sessions is on practical applications of how collective action and property rights institutions can be strengthened through policies and projects. In the past, CAPRi has organized several training courses for participants from South Asia and East Africa who work for research institutes, universities, NGOs, and governments.
